JCPenney launches in Australia!
Myer, David Jones and Target have been beaten to the world of online shopping by an overseas department store. JCPenney, the US department store, has setup shop in Australia - not physically but online.
It’s an odd move, considering they don’t have a bricks and mortar shop here, and even more odd is all their sizing is in inches. What the? Having obviously spent a considerable sum of money on an Australian online store they couldn’t scrape together another $10 to convert the sizing to centimeters?
Anyway, I’m going shopping now … www.jcpenney.com.au
p.s. Actually not, the shoes I want are $18, the freight charge is $29 and the handling charge is $10. Mmm…how do all those people on eBay do it?

In relation to the freight cost outweighing the cost of the shoes, my suggestion would be to place a group order (friends/family/colleagues etc) and split the freight - maximum value for dollars - sometimes buying top qualityproduct costs just a little more one way or another. My experience in similar industry has been that people are happy to pay for the freight just to get the exact product they really want.

Agree Troppo. I think they’ve misjudged how much we like American fashion.

Well people - we are very sorry to hear that you think our site is a ripoff.
Thought you might like to know that the response to our launch & Channel 10 editorial coverage this week has infact been so good that we are thrilled by the media attention - even the negative attention.
Hundreds of registrations & on-line orders are the proof in the pudding and all I can say is that there is no doubt in my mind, that those that have shopped are obviously very “savvy” online shoppers - who know how to work it to get the all important “value for money”!!
If we never count you as a valued customer that is disappointing - but I won’t lose any sleep over it!!

I have purchased a number of items from your U.S store and always found the prices very good and the service likewise.
